Mardi Gras, or “Fat Tuesday” is coming up next week! You don’t have to travel to New Orleans to celebrate, because a few places right here in Lexington is celebrating it up “New Orleans” style.

1. Fat Friday 2019 at Copper Roux!
Break out the Masks and Beads it’s time to celebrate NOLA style! Bayou Bluegrass Catering will be holding their annual Mardi Gras celebrations at Copper Roux! Fat Friday, March 1st and Fat Tuesday, March 5th. As always they will take you straight to the Big Easy with their authentic Cajun Style Cuisine.

2. Mardi Gras Masquerade Party at Soundbar!
Celebrate Mardi Gras on the Saturday before Fat Tuesday with masks, beads, hurricanes, and DJ Crow playing the hottest tunes. 100 free masks will be given out starting at 10pm.

3. Fat Tuesday at Bourbon n’ Toulouse & Chevy Chase Inn
The festivities start at 11am and will run late into the night!
Here are some of the highlights:
- Alligator Etouffee
- King Cake from Sunrise Bakery
- Crawfish Boil starts at 6:30pm. They’ll have live crawfish flown in Tuesday morning!
- A huge party Tuesday night at Chevy Chase Inn.
- Beer specials at Bourbon N’ Toulouse
The Chevy Chase Inn will open at 11am to allow for more places for diners to sit (must be 21+). The party will really get going Tuesday evening at The C.C.I. with Hurricanes, Abita Brewing Company Beers and great blues music from The Tallboys (of Kentucky).

4. FAT (tiki) Tuesday! and Cajun Cook-Off at Tiki Java
There will be food and drinks and lots of fun 5pm to 9pm on both the Tiki side and the Lantern side.
They will have traditional crawfish boil plates for sale (probably ten bucks, but they have to wait and see how much they are going to cost) BUT they also are opening this up as a CAJUN COOK-OFF POTLUCK thing!! Bring your best Gumbo or Jambalaya or Étouffée or whatever!

5. Fat Tuesday at Winchell’s Restaurant and Bar
Come out on March 5th for their Fat Tuesday celebration from 11am until 11pm. The menu Includes:
- Crawfish Etouffee
- Sausage and Chicken Gumbo
- Cajun Red Beans and Rice with either Blackened Chicken or Catfish
- Fried Okra and Crawfish Tails
- Seafood Jambalaya
- King Cake
