  • 9am: Record Store Day 2019 at CD Central: Record Store Day is an annual event where they join with other record stores across the country and the globe to celebrate all that is fine about independent record stores in this increasingly digital and corporate world.   • 9:30am: Brunch & Bets at Lexington Diner: Come out for a special brunch with Ellis Starr and Chef Chucky before Keeneland.   • 11am: Go See Trees Spring Challenge at Live Green Lexington: Learn about trees in Fayette County with the Go See Trees Spring Challenge, held March 16 through April 30. Choose from 30 trees of interest to explore – see a few or go visit them all! Download a Go See Trees passport from LexingtonKY.gov/GoSeeTrees or pick one up at any Lexington Public Library branch, McConnell Springs Park or Raven Run Nature Sanctuary. Visit at least 10 trees and turn in your passport for a prize. Collect all 30 to be eligible for a grand prize drawing for an “All Things Trees” gift basket valued at $250. Passports may be turned in to any Lexington Public Library branch or McConnell Springs Park.

Photos with live bunnies will be offered on The Barn Back Porch on April 20th, weather permitting. Photos will be offered as walk-ins and photo packages are printed on-site as you wait (Also, on April 19 at 1pm and April 20 at 11am).
  • 11am: West Sixth Brewing Wooden Nickel & Bluegrass Pug Rescue at West Sixth Brewing (cause): WOODEN NICKEL at West 6th Brewing BLUEGRASS PUG RESCUE is the non-profit for the month of April!! Every time you buy a flight in one of their taprooms, you are presented with a Wooden Nickel that gives you the opportunity to give $1 to a local non-profit or use it for $1 off merchandise. The non-profit is different each month, This is just one of the many ways you can drink good beer and do good things (Recurring everyday until April 30).

No racing will be held on Mondays or Tuesdays, or Easter Sunday, April 21. Gates open at 11am with first post at 1:05 pm daily, with the exception of opening Thursday, April 4 when gates open at 1pm and first post is 3pm.

  • 11am: Spin The Black Forest Cake – RSD Release with CD Central at Rock House Brewing: Record Store Day is basically a national holiday around here, and it’s right around the corner. This year they partnered with their buds at CD Central to bring you a beer in honor of RSDs 2019 ambassadors, Pearl Jam. Spin The Black Forest Cake is a dark ale loaded with chocolate, cherries, vanilla, and lactose.

In 2018 Samuel was a finalist on America’s Got Talent and can currently be seen on America’s Got Talent Champions Edition.  In addition to his TV appearances Sam was recently featured on All Def Digital’s Comedy Originals.   • 11am: Military Day at The Races Presented by Marathon at Keeneland: Military Day at the Races Presented by Marathon recognizes the men and women who serve our country. All active-duty, reserve, veterans and military families receive free general admission and reserved grandstand seating with a military I.D., DD214, veteran I.D. or other form of Military I.D. at any pass gate. The Military Family Zone in the North Terrace will offer free food, live music and more from noon to 4 p.m. In honor of Month of the Military Child, Keeneland will have activities for children throughout the day.

Students and Community members are invited to come out to the Orange Lot from 12-6 pm to enjoy carnival rides, games, great music, delicious food and so much more! Everything is free for all.
  • 1pm: Kids/Family Day-Mommy and Me Unicorn at Painting With a Twist (art): All ages are welcome. This class is fun for anyone and everyone for only $25 a Painter! This event does require a sketch. When you arrive, the outline will be sketched on your canvases. Bring the entire family or come by yourself for an afternoon of fun! Tickets available: HERE.
  • 1pm: Reid Travis Autograph Signing at KSR Bar and Grille: Come to KSBar and Grille on Sunday, April 14 to meet Reid Travis! He will be meeting fans and signing autographs from 1:00 to 3:00 pm! They have been busy sowing seeds and preparing growing beds in their 14 free u-pick community gardens and it costs them about a nickel to get each plant going in the greenhouse space. You can help them grow more by taking your own shopping bag to Whole Foods—we get five shiny pennies every time you do from April 1st till June 30th! (Recurring).

  • 6pm: True Crime Series – Episode #5 at Lexington Public Library – Downtown: The murder of 13 year-old Haley McHone in May, 1999 by Serial Murderer Tommy Lynn Sells in Lexington. This killer committed murders all across America. This time he struck in Lexington, Kentucky. The body of Haley was found in bushes 150 feet from her home. Sells was sentenced to death in Texas and was executed in 2014 by lethal injection. Come out for the presentation of this TRUE CRIME.
  • 6:30pm: Easter Cookie Class at Seventh + Lime (food/class): This is a beginner/intermediate cookie decorating class where I will give you step by step instructions on how to decorate adorable Easter themed cookies. Experience is not required, but it is recommended. You will leave with 6 cookies decorated all by you! If not, come and listen to others in your town that want to tell a story they have. The story can be as simple or complex as you want, but it must be 5 minutes or less. The Grove is Pivot’s monthly community story-telling event. Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome to come hang out and listen to stories or come tell a story themselves! The stories you tell must be yours, they must be true, and they must be 5 minutes or less.
