Saturday, February 3, 2018 – Lexington Comfort Food Week!

  • 8:30am Tour Keeneland Race Course (outdoors/kid friendly/horses): For guests interested in learning the history of Keeneland and an overview of operations for both racing and sales, guided walking tours are available. This outside walking tour with an experienced Tour Guide takes guests through the Keeneland Paddock and Grandstand, grounds, and when available, to the world-renowned Sales Pavilion. Following the trackside tour, fans are invited to visit the Keeneland Library, one of the world’s largest repositories of information related to the Thoroughbred.   • 8:30am: Sweat Series with Bethany Bubenzer at lululemon Lexington (health/fitness): Come flow with us this Saturday as Bethany leads us through the first class of our February Sweat Series. We are so excited to have her in the store to kick off the month!
  • 10am: Lillian West Trunk Show at The White Dress of Lexington (shopping): A representative from Lillian West will be present to help you find the perfect dress, and brides will receive a free veil with the purchase of a Lillian West dress! You can also shop on Saturday, February 3 and Sunday, February 4.
  • 10am: Barre With Art at 21c Museum Hotel (health/wellness/fitness): S T R E T C H your horizons at 21c Museum Hotel Lexington’s weekly Saturday bare series. Flex those creative muscles as you work through a variety of barre poses in our contemporary art-filled spaces, then hit the bar at Lockbox for a mimosa. Sessions are just $10 at the door and are led by certified barre instructors from Elle Fitness featuring ElleBARRE. Class is 21+; Price includes mimosa. BYOM + cash only.
  • 10am: Kentucky Reptile Expo at the Lexington Convention Center (kid friendly): Awesome animals, awesome deals, a family fun event from 10a-4p! Stop by, bring the kids & have some fun with us Feb. 3rd! Admission is $5, Kids 10 & under are FREE!
  • 11am: Learn to Play Ukulele Edition at The Lyric Theatre & Cultural Arts Center (music/class/workshop): The Learn to Play Ukulele Edition will meet Saturday January 20, February 3, and February 10 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. This program is free to anyone ages 14 and older. The Learn to Play Series at The Lyric Theatre introduces adults to the basics of learning to play an instrument. Our first edition introduces students to playing the Ukulele. There will be 3 instructor led session held at The Lyric Theatre.   • 12pm: Lexington Comfort Food Week at Various Restaurants (food): Welcome to Lexington Eats Week and the inaugural “Comfort Food Elevated” event! This Comfort Food Elevated event offers the foodie community an opportunity to dine at some of Lexington’s best locally-owned fine dining and fine casual establishments at a very comforting price.   • 12pm: Acrovinyasa with Madison – beginner friendly and by donation (health/wellness/fitness): An all-level, 2-hour workshop offered on a donation/free basis from 12pm – 2pm the last two Saturdays of each month. This entire flow covers 90 asanas (45yoga & 45 acro) and introduces a wide variety of postures and transitions, originating from both the yoga and acrobatic traditions. Every air asana moves seamlessly from one to the next creating a continuous sequence. Each class will cover about 10 postures, from earth to air. A partner is not required, but bring your friends for more fun! (Recurring Saturdays).

Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Bluegrass Sports Commission (a 501c3 non-profit) and its efforts to grow the economic impact that sports tourism has on central Kentucky.   • 12pm: Felted Clog KAL at ReBelle (arts/crafts/kid friendly): The holidays are over and (hopefully) so is your holiday knitting, time to knit something for yourself. For this month’s knit along, we are going to go with an old school pattern- the Felted Clogs from Fiber Trends.   • 2pm: Kentucky Sport, Boat & Recreation Show at Rupp Arena (sports): Get away to the Kentucky Sport, Boat and Recreation Show, presented by UK Federal Credit Union! We are central Kentucky’s largest and longest running outdoor expo. With just over 100,000 square feet of exhibitor space, we fill Rupp Arena and Heritage Hall with everything you need to enjoy the great outdoors, lakes, and waterways this summer. We’ll bring the glitter pens, markers and glue if you bring the creativity! All of the valentines we create will be given to clients who currently reside in nursing homes across the Bluegrass. February 5-24, 2018: Love Your Downtown – Georgetown, Kentucky

Love locally with Georgetown’s Love Your Downtown event! From Feb. 5-24, locals and visitors can pick up a FREE LYD passport at participating businesses in Downtown Georgetown. The Love Your Downtown passport encourages the public to visit local businesses in our downtown in efforts to receive passport stamps/signatures. After visiting 10 or more locations, participants can turn in their passport at one of the businesses to be entered to win a basket full of merchandise!
