It’s the weekend again, but it looks like it will be sunny all weekend! It sounds like the perfect weekend to spend time outdoors!

There are still a few days left of Fayette Mall Restaurant Week. It began on Monday, June 24 and ends on Saturday, June 29, 2019. At Fayette Mall Restaurant Week, you can enjoy $5 menu items at some of your favorite restaurants and snack locations at Fayette Mall and in the Plaza at Fayette Mall!

On Saturday, June 29, Wise Bird Cider is celebrating their grand opening. They are a brand new business that opened in the Distillery District!

A Cup of Commonwealth is celebrating six years and they are having a celebration all week long. Their celebration starts on Monday, July 1 and goes through Saturday, July 6. Also, downtown on July 3 and July 4 is Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival. On July 4, there will be fireworks launched from R.J. Corman.

Friday, June 28, 2019 – FAYETTE MALL RESTAURANT WEEK

The evening will also feature an architectural building tour of the Bourbon On Rye three-storey building for the first (25) registrants. Thursday, July 4, 2019 – FOURTH OF JULY FESTIVAL

  • 7:30am: Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival – Downtown: Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival, presented by Ball Homes and Central Bank, promises two full days of patriotic, family friendly activities – Bluegrass 10,000 Footrace, Downtown.
  • 8am: 4th of July Brunch at Alfalfa (food): Come out this July 4th for a special holiday brunch! They will be serving up brunch at 8am! Come out in the morning after the race or anytime during the day!
  • 9am: Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival – Downtown: Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival, presented by Ball Homes and Central Bank, promises two full days of patriotic, family friendly activities – Downtown Street Festival (includes arts/crafts vendors, entertainment, concessions). Entertainment sites include lower Courthouse Plaza, Phoenix Park, the corner of Short and Upper Streets, and Fifth Third Bank Pavilion (9am to 6pm).
  • 11am: Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival – Downtown: Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival, presented by Ball Homes and Central Bank, promises two full days of patriotic, family friendly activities – Reading of the Declaration of Independence, Main Street at Courthouse Square.
  • 11am: Fourth of July Family Fun at Edley’s BBQ (food): Bring the BOOM to your BBQ with our Edley’s Family Packs! They will be closing at 8pm. See details: HERE.
  • 12pm: Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest at Drake’s (food): The ‘Top Dog’ will win a $150 BHG Gift Card. Only 10 spots available! Event begins at 12pm and will show the national Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. Contest begins at 1pm. Signup for the contest: HERE.
  • 12pm: July 4th Fundraiser to Support the Troops at Saul Good (cause/food): On July 4th, all Saul Good Restaurant & Pub locations will offer 1/2 price on all dine-in food as an incentive to generate donations for Military Missions, Inc. Saul Good Restaurant & Pub has 3 locations to serve the Lexington area.
  • 2pm: Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival – Downtown: Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival, presented by Ball Homes and Central Bank, promises two full days of patriotic, family friendly activities – Independence Day Parade, Main Street from Midland to Mill Street.
  • 4pm: Fourth of Juluau at Ethereal Brewing: Go glass-to-mouth and get lei’d at their Fourth of Juluau celebration. More details: HERE.
  • 6pm: A Cup of Common Wealth’s 6th Anniversary! at A Cup of Common Wealth: This year, they are planning a whole week’s worth of fun and shenanigans to ring in their birthday. Fourth of July Downtown and Shop festivities – Come watch the race at 7:30a and the parade at 1:30pm!
  • 7pm: Southland Jamboree at Moondance Amphitheater (music): Come out and enjoy some great local bluegrass music on its new night, Thursday! Tonight’s band is Chris & Jenn Shouse.
  • 7pm: Team Trivia Night at Lexington Diner (games): Play some trivia!
  • 8pm: SummerFest at Woodland Park Presents “Broadway Under the Stars” at Woodland: SummerFest is thrilled to present BROADWAY UNDER THE STARS, a new concert event that is sure to light up Downtown Lexington! This new event shines the spotlight on Central Kentucky’s local stars! Featuring your favorite showstoppers from the past 13 years of SummerFest musical theatre productions and the stunning backdrop of Woodland Park, this is an event you don’t want to miss.   • 9pm: Janet Evra Trio at Creaux (music): Janet Evra is a jazz vocalist, bassist, and composer from Gloucester, England. She blends traditional bossa nova and samba with modern influences and an indie twist to produce fresh, lush jazz. Join her July 4th, 9pm-midnight at Creaux!
  • 9pm: Vena Cava, Sean, Maewyn, Slow Violence at Best Friend Bar (music): Live music!
  • 10pm: Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival – Downtown: Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival, presented by Ball Homes and Central Bank, promises two full days of patriotic, family friendly activities – Fireworks, launched from the R.J. Corman Railyard.
