It’s officially fall, and it’s almost October!

As always here is a list of some things going on in Lexington, Kentucky. It isn’t an extensive list, but just something to give y’all some ideas!

  • 11am: Oktoberfest at Drake’s: Prost! Drake’s is serving a specialty German menu September 21 through October 6. Pair with Samuel Adams Octoberfest in 25oz souvenir steins for $9 with $8 refills (while supplies last). See menu: HERE.
  • 11am: Mirror Twin Turns THREE at Mirror Twin Brewing: Celebrate their birthday! See details: HERE.
  • 11am: Oktoberfest Begins at Blue Stallion Brewing Company: Cheers to Oktoberfest with our lager release and limited-edition ceramic stein sale! Dad’s Favorites Deli is cooking out and Nappy Roots tours the brewery with Lexington on Tap Tours at 9:00! They’ll have liters of lagers for only $8 all day and you can refill your Blue Stallion Oktoberfest stein for $4 all Oktoberfest long!
  • 4pm: Oktoberfest in the Garden at Kentucky Native Cafe: Oktoberfest under the trees with live music, giant pretzels, and extra beer taps. The garden will open the taps at 4PM each afternoon until last call at 10PM. Live music will start at 6:00PM and headliners will start at 7:30PM. Open: Bruce Lewis. Headliner: The Swells
  • 5pm: The High Noon Sun Sips Showdown at Belle’s: Come find your new favorite spiked seltzer every Friday in September at Belle’s Cocktail House!  From 5-9 every Friday this month, they’ll have buckets of all four flavors of High Noon Sun Sips Vodka & Soda for just $10. Or, grab a bucket of four Black Cherry White Claws for $12 to taste-test and compare. High Noon will be on hand to hand out swag!
  • 5pm: WOBtoberfest at World of Beer: Their annual WOBtoberfest will begin on Friday, the 27th at 5:00pm. Bring the kiddos and enjoy a GIANT German pretzel with house-made mustard and Beer cheese. They will have games and prizes for the whole family, including a Stein holding contest.
  • 5:30pm: Kevin Holm-Hudson LIVE at Taziki’s Community Night: Two-time Lexington Music Awards winner Kevin Holm-Hudson brings his eclectic mix of fun familiar covers and distinctive original songs to enhance the always-delicious food at Taziki’s monthly Community Night! Featuring $5 gyros, $5 signature pasta, $2 beer (all beer) and half price bottles of wine!
  • 6pm: Music in the Mall at Fayette Mall: Fayette Mall presents Music in the Mall, featuring live music entertainment by local favorite guitarist, Michael Robinson Acoustic. Performances are from 6pm – 9pm. Music in the Mall is located in the Food Court.

  • 6pm: Freaky Friday Flicks at Moondance Amphitheater: The Hogwarts Express is pulling up to Moondance Amphitheater for three spellbinding nights this fall. Wizards, witches, and muggles alike are sure to appear when Freaky Friday Flicks conjures up its Halloween lineup. The first three Harry Potter movies will be shown on consecutive Friday nights beginning September 27 through October 11 at 7:30pm. September 27: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
  • 6pm: Science Fridays in the Planetarium: Back to the Moon at The Living Arts and Science Center: Back To The Moon is the fascinating tale of the Google Lunar XPRIZE, which was designed to democratize space and create new opportunities for eventual human and robotic presence on the Moon. We see the engineering and innovation steps taken by the internationally distributed teams competing to land a spacecraft on the Moon and vie for additional prizes. We highlight the human spirit of competition and collaboration as teams take on this audacious challenge. Who will win the $30 million Google Lunar XPRIZE? More details: HERE.
  • 6pm: Kids Night Out at Edleys Bar-B-Que: Bring your kiddos on down for Kids Night Out! It’ll be a fun night for those of all ages. The kids can enjoy: balloon animals, face painting, coloring station, and candy bags. FREE KIDS MEAL with the purchase of an adult meal!
  • 6:30pm: The Dougheys at North Lime Donuts: The Dougheys, an award ceremony held on September 27th. They are partnering with Common Good to celebrate our shared love of donuts and the amazing ways Common Good continues to impact the Lexington community. A $5 cover will be charged at the door and 100% of that cover will go straight to Common Good, as well as a percentage of our profits from that entire week. You will have an opportunity to donate directly to Common Good as well! Throughout their birthday week (September 23-27th) you will vote on categories like Best in Cinnamontography and Best Supporting Coffee.   • 10am: Beyond Grits Culinary Walking Tour: The Kentucky Classics at VisitLex (food): Led by local foodie, Alex Cain, spend the morning on a culinary walking tour through downtown Lexington learning about our deep agricultural roots and booming food scene. With inventive and field-to-fork cuisine at every turn and local chefs on a mission to showcase the unique southern flavors in and around Lexington, this city is undergoing a culinary movement. She was also the subject and first female comic ever on the biography show, “Comedy Club.” She joins the elite comedy company of Ron White, Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy, who are also featured in this series.
