We’ve made it through another week… so you know what that means? It’s time for a list of “Things to do in Lexington, Kentucky.” As always here is a list of some things going on in Lexington, Kentucky. It isn’t an extensive list, but just something to give y’all some ideas!

  • 11am: Sweet Fudgin’ Milk Stout Release – ALL DAY: A favorite returns to the taps this Friday, November 22nd! Their milk stout features a rich body complimented by just the right amount of chocolatey sweetness.
  • 4pm: $5 Happy Hour: Sazerac Rye at OBC Kitchen: Try Sazerac Rye for just $5!
  • 5:30pm to 8pm: Maker’s Mark: A Taste of Heritage at Liquor Barn – Beaumont: This unique, one-hour event with Bill Samuels Jr. and Rob Samuels is your opportunity to hear, see and savor the true heritage of the Maker’s Mark brand. Guests will not only hear about the brand’s origins. You’ll also get to see rare memorabilia from Star Hill Farm, including the very first bottle of Maker’s Mark ever produced. Taste through four all-new exclusive Maker’s Mark Private Select® offerings. Each of these rare bourbons, crafted with help from bourbon societies across Kentucky, highlights a distinctive flavor profile achieved through the Private Select stave selection process.   • 9am: Sweat Series at Origin Hotel: Join Coach Mike Gardner for an hour of HIIT in our Taylor Made Farm Ballroom! Maintain balance and start your Saturday off right. You’ll be working out to live beats by DJ Forerunner and participants will receive a $5 gift card to our 33 Staves restaurant. Enjoy a Bloody Mary or mimosa after class and get to know their hotel.   • 10am: Kentucky Christmas Fest at Clarion Hotel North: Not your average Christmas expo! Come out for a celebration of all things Christmas with celebrity guests from your favorite Christmas movies, vendors, workshops and, of course, Santa! See the events: HERE.
  • 10am: Yoga with Brooke Williams at Wise Bird Cider: Come out for donation-based yoga at Wise Bird Cider with Brooke Williams for Yoga at 10am. Follow your flow by sipping cider, sangria, + slushies + Great Bagel.
  • 10am: Kentucky Proud Food Show at Liquor Barn – Beaumont and Liquor Barn – Hamburg: Be Kentucky Proud and #shoplocal during our Kentucky Proud Food Show! Tastings will be available from Harkness Edwards Vineyards, Rivulet Liqueur, and others – Ruth Hunt Candies, Flatboat Bourbon Cheese, Kentucky Mountain Coffee, and Allman’s Beer Cheese, LLC! Enter to win special prizes that would make the perfect gift!
  • 10am: Beyond Grits Culinary Walking Tour: The Kentucky Classics at VisitLex (food): Led by local foodie, Alex Cain, spend the morning on a culinary walking tour through downtown Lexington learning about our deep agricultural roots and booming food scene. With inventive and field-to-fork cuisine at every turn and local chefs on a mission to showcase the unique southern flavors in and around Lexington, this city is undergoing a culinary movement. All tours begin at the Lexington Visitors Center and end at the Lexington Farmers’ Market. Alex will share information about Kentucky food traditions and historical facts while visiting some of the best restaurants in downtown.   • 11am: Thanksgiving Sampling Saturdays at Good Foods: Come out for three Saturdays in November leading up to Thanksgiving for different recipes and inspirations! November 9th will feature some of their favorite local vendors sampling their twists on holiday recipes. Prepare to come in and try something new while you get some great ideas for entertaining.
  • 1pm: Santa’s Workshop | See Santa at The Summit at Fritz Farm: In partnership with Holiday Road Portraits, Santa will be opening his workshop on November 16th (in between lululemon and Texas de Brazil) every weekend beginning November 16th through December 23rd! Please follow the ticket link below if you’d like to reserve at time to meet Santa and purchase photo packages Selfie walk-ins and professional photos walk-ins will be welcomed, but reservations are highly recommended.   • 1pm: Woodcarving Program at the Park at McConnell Springs: This is an adult woodcarving program at the park with the help of the Lexington Woodcarvers Guild. This is a free program to encourage beginners to start and other to continue their work with wood of all types. They meet most Saturdays at 10am during the summer and 1pm during the winter.
  • 2pm: Friends Giving Wine Tasting and Workshop at Board and Brush Lexington: Wine Tasting and Workshop!! This Friends Giving Event takes place during their Friends Giving!! Grateful Saturday workshop, on November 23 at 2pm. Register: HERE.
  • 6pm: Trivia Night at Good Foods (games): Come out on Saturday nights in our cafe as they host a battle of the brains. Bring your team, enjoy some food and grab a beer for this family-friendly trivia night where the winners take home the glory AND the swag.
  • 6pm: Alicia Ferrere at The Twisted Cork: Come out for good tunes and good vibes. A mix of soul, pop, folk/Americana and much more!
  • 6:15pm: Southern Lights Stroll 5K at Kentucky Horse Park: Lace up, head out and help them turn on the lights! The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation invites you to help us set the Holiday Season in motion as you join us for the 2019 Southern Lights Stroll on Saturday, November 23rd! The 5K competitive chipped race will start at 6:15pm, and the stroll (untimed walk) starting at 7:00. Imagine seeing the holiday lights on foot, set in the magnificent surroundings of the Kentucky Horse Park. This year, they have teamed up with 3 Way Racing to provide chip timing for our competitive 5K race, complete with awards. Additional activities include complimentary Mini Train Rides! Pre-registrations are encouraged! A food drive for God’s Pantry and local animal shelters will be held in conjunction with this event.   • 5:30pm: Open Mic at The Twisted Cork: Come out weekly from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at The Twisted Cork to hear live music. Bring your instrument, bring a friend, sign up and perform!
  • 6:30pm: Yoga at The Speakeasy: This is a hatha/or vinyasa flow class. Please bring a mat and water. The cost of the lesson is donation based.
  • 7pm: Kentucky Single Release Celebration with Aaron Boyd & Jen Tackett at Al’s Bar: Come out and celebrate the new single from Logan Carver, “Kentucky”. Written during a three month stint in Guatemala, “Kentucky” is a celebration of the culture, people and experience of the greatest commonwealth in the nation. Jen Tackett starts the night off at 7 followed by Aaron Boyd. Logan Carver ends the night with a full band set.

  • 8:45am: Monday Morning Community Yoga at Martine’s Pastries (fitness/health/wellness): Yoga instructor Erica House is leading a Monday morning community yoga practice for all upstairs in the shop. Erica’s donation based class is perfect for any age, level or ability. You’ll flow through a series of yoga poses guided by the breath, designed to create space while discovering self.
  • 11am: Hops and Heat at Mirror Twin Brewing Company: Assistant Brewer Mike Brown is turning up the heat again and bringing back our Pepper Beer Take Over. See what’s on tap: HERE.
  • 11am:  The Foster Care Council Dine Out for Charity at Sedona Taphouse: Come out and support our November charity, The Foster Care Council, during Dine Out for Charity every Monday! During lunch or dinner you get our 8 oz. Black Angus Flat Iron Steak for $8 or 7oz Grilled Salmon for only $9 (normally $17.9) and we donate $1 to this organization. The Foster Care Council provides funding for individualized tutoring, clothing, summer camps, and enrichment activities to Kentucky’s foster children that have been removed from their homes due to neglect, abuse or abandonment.

Please enter through the mall entrance next to Talbots. Pets must be on a leash or in a carrier, and pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.   • 11am: 2-4-6 Beer, Wine, Stix at Drake’s: $2 PBR cans, $4 house wine and $6 Pixy Stix martinis every Thursday.
  • 12pm: Thanksgiving Dinner at Lockbox: Give thanks with friends and family this year over a Thanksgiving feast prepared by chef Cody Derosett and team. Indulge in pre-set platters for the table to start and then a family style salad course. For the main course choose for the table one meat, three sides, and one dessert. Four-course prix fixe menu available for adults for $50-$55/person; children 12 years or younger can enjoy a special menu at $25. Take home Thanksgiving leftovers for $15/person.
