Yesterday, I attended a super fun event at The Mall at Lexington Green. The meet-up was located on the lower level at Lexington Green near the fire pit lounge and the Lakeside Live stage. Hartley Social put together a “blog meet and greet” to bring together local bloggers, like-minded individuals, and social media influencers. One of my friends from undergrad, who is a fashion blogger, invited me to attend (Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to go though!).
The weather was perfect. It wasn’t too hot, and it was such a wonderful way to close out the last day of summer. Even though, today is the 22nd, it is still a scorcher outside, with no plans on cooling down. Lame. I want the fall weather to happen now!
We began having some refreshments and appetizers that were provided by Jax Burgers & Brews (that is also located on the lower level – opposite of Palmer’s Fresh Grill).
The night was pretty chill and low-key. Once everyone got there, we sat around the fire pit, and we played a little icebreaker game; Two Truths and One Lie. When it was my turn, I used the following statements:
- I have never been in a tanning bed.
- I have broke my arm twice.
- I have had the same cell phone number for 17 years.
Can you guess which one is my lie?
Afterwards, we just spent time mingling with one another and basically got to know each other. We talked about our blogs and discussing what we like to write about/what our niche is, and passing out our business cards, so we could stay in touch easily. There were many different types of bloggers there; food, fashion, lifestyle, Lexington and Kentucky specific (like mine), DIY, etc. Before, we left, we each received a goodie bag with some items from some of the Lexington Green shops to take home with us.
This isn’t my first time going to events meeting strangers, where I most likely don’t know anyone there. I’ve attended events before with The Bourbon Social and The Lexington Bourbon Society, but those two organizations aren’t blogger related {tickets and reservations are required and are usually $40-60+ per person}. Those two have a focus specifically on America’s Native Spirit, bourbon. So, if you love delicious food and bourbon, those are two organizations that you want to check out and keep an eye out for upcoming events. The Bourbon Social is a series of events that are throughout the year that celebrate Bourbon craft and culture, as well as the people who share a love of America’s native spirit. Also, there will be Kentucky hospitality mixed in, as well as the tasty foods that we are known for. The Lexington Bourbon Society is a collection of people who share the love of bourbon and like to celebrate the heritage.
This was my first blogger meet-up of this caliber, and I love meeting other bloggers, who share one of the same passions as me. I love attending all types of events, whether it is a free event, one where you have to buy tickets, one where the emphasis is on networking, or if it just pertaining to food or bourbon. I’ll have fun no matter what! I think blogger meet-ups are especially great, because it gives a chance for everyone to meet new people and to make new friends, as well as making connections to where you could possibly do a collaboration with one another in the future!
I love this kind of events, You get to meet new people and have fun. Beautiful pics.
Thanks so much!!
Not fair!! Which one is the lie??? This event is top notch. I can tell you had a lot of fun!!
The lie is: #2. I’ve actually never broken any bones before *knocks on wood*

Sounds like it was a great meet up! I wish there were things like that local to me…or even in New England, but alas it seems like it doesn’t really happen!
I love an event with a goodie bag, good times and good food! It almost feels like getting pampered to work!
I love this. You’ll get so much out of going to a blogger meet up! It’s always fun and you learn so much. Glad you had a great time.
How amazing is this blogger meet and greet! It looks like a lot of fun and I’m sure you learned a lot from other bloggers as well. The food looks great too! I’m glad you enjoyed!
OMG how fun was this event?!?! I just love meeting other bloggers and when there is food? Now that’s the cherry on top!
I’ve recently signed up for a few local meet up services in the hopes of finding other bloggers in person. Hopefully I can find one that’s as fun as this event.
I’m going to guess that, “I have had the same cell phone number for 17 years.” is the lie…but I’m just guessing lol!
That one is actually true!! I’ve had the same cell phone number since 1999. The lie is: #2. I’ve actually never broken any bones before! *knocks on wood*
Wow, this is a nice event! I’ve never been into a meet and greet event like this.
That looks like it was a fund event! I’m glad you got to connect with some bloggers in your area.
This looks like it was so much fun! I love that truths and lie game a lot. Great way to get to know each other.
