Things to Do in Lexington, Kentucky: The Week of June 14-20, 2019

June 13, 2019

We’ve made it through another week! There are SO MANY events going on this weekend, and many are outside. Let’s just hope we have beautiful weather!

Tomorrow is National Bourbon Day! Legend has it that June 14 is the anniversary of the very first time that bourbon was distilled in the late 1700s. On May 4, 1964, Lyndon B. Johnson signed an Act of Congress which declared bourbon “America’s Native Spirit.” This means that to be called bourbon, it must adhere to very strict regulations and must be made in the United States.

There are many summer activities happening this weekend and upcoming week, such as the Bluegrass Fair, Friday Night Flicks at Jacobson Park, Summer Nights in Suburbia, and the Lexington Rodeo.

Crank and Boom is celebrating six years and The Beer Trappe is celebrating its ninth year!

There will be a concert at Whitaker Bank Ballpark and there will be many artists performing to kick off summer! Ludacris, Waka Flocka, Petey Pablo, Mims, and Midwest Explosion is performing with Twista, Do or Die, and Shawnna. Tickets available: HERE.

About Me

Hi, y'all!

Hey y'all! My name is Whitney, and I'm the founder of Fabulous in Fayette. I've been living in Lexington since 2008. I'm in love with my city of Lexington and love all the amazing local businesses and restaurants. It's seriously one of the best places to live!

Not to be confused with Fayetteville, North Carolina. Fabulous in Fayette celebrates the fabulous city of Lexington, the great state of Kentucky, and Southern Living. In case you are not from here, Fayette refers to the county where Lexington is located!

xoxo, Whitney
