May is almost over and it’s that time of year where there are foodie events galore. It looks as if we have skipped over spring and went straight into summer. With summer comes warm and sunny weather and probably the most fun events of the year! Summertime means more opportunities to spend time outdoors. Lexington has some wonderful events all throughout the summer, because the weather is so nice! I’ve put together a list of sixteen must attend events you cannot miss out on this summer. Many are family friendly and many others are FREE!

St. Jude Dream House Giveaway – Lexington, Kentucky

I have a good cause and giveaway to share with everyone this wonderful Thursday! I’m sure everyone is familiar with St. Jude’s, but in case you aren’t, St. Jude’s was founded by Danny Thomas. The mission of St. Jude Children’s Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. No child is ever denied treatment. The majority of their funding comes from individual contributions, unlike other hospitals. Thanks to all of the donations, families never receive a bill from St. Jude. Get your mint juleps and your big hats ready! It’s almost Derby Day! The Kentucky Derby has been nicknamed “the greatest two minutes in sports.” We are celebrating its 145th year! What happened last year? Justify stole the show in 2018 with his 2:04.21 finish on a sloppy track. This victory made him the first Derby-winning horse to never race as a two-year-old in more than 130 years.
