Live Love & Eat Local: Lexington Eats Week 2017 Recap

August 1, 2017

July is always an exciting month in Lexington! It’s a foodie month that I always look forward to, filled with amazing food events such as Lexington Burger Week and Lexington Restaurant Week. However, this year, Restaurant Week was canceled last minute because they lost a key sponsor. However, they have secured a new sponsor for next year, as well as having plans for expansion. Next year’s Restaurant Week will be held July 19-28, 2018, and I’m excited to see all of the new plans that have to make it even better. Lexington Restaurant Week has been around since 2013, so…

How to Create Summertime Memories With a Picnic For Two

July 21, 2017

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, INC. and The Coca-Cola Company, all opinions are mine alone. #BestSummerMemories #CollectiveBias Here in Kentucky, we have pretty hot and humid summers and mild winters, so for at least eight or nine months out of the year, you can spend time outside doing your favorite activities. One of my favorite summer activities is having a picnic with my husband. It’s such an adorable way to spend time with one another, while also spending time outdoors. Sure, we could do the stereotypical date night; dinner and a movie (and there’s nothing wrong with that!), but…

Lexington Burger Week 2017: The Burgers and How to Make the Most Of It

July 18, 2017

The third annual Lexington Burger Week has come to a close. Sad face. In 2015, over 36 restaurants participated and 21,000 burgers were sold. In 2016, over 36 restaurants participated in Lexington Burger Week and over 61,100 burgers were sold. Now, in 2017, there were over 46 one-of-a-kind burgers being offered at 40+ restaurants. The official count hasn’t come in yet, but if the growth from 2015 to 2016 was almost 300%, I can only imagine what growth it had from 2016 to 2017. For those that don’t know, Lexington Burger Week happens around the second week in July, and they…

Peace Love & Tacos: Taco Festival Cincinnati

July 14, 2017

This post is in collaboration with the The Taco Festival. All of these opinions are entirely my own. Thank you for supporting brands and businesses that support Fabulous in Fayette! Last weekend, Fabulous in Fayette was driving up I-75 from Lexington, Kentucky to Cincinnati, Ohio to attend the Taco Festival. An hour after hitting the road, I was in Cincinnati and ready to nom on all of the tacos. Who doesn’t love tacos?!? I’m a huge foodie, so I love going to food festivals, because of the food (um, hello?!) and it’s a great opportunity to support local businesses.

Bentley’s GOTCHA Day with the Bluegrass Barkery

July 10, 2017

I’m a super crazy dog lady! I go crazy over dogs of all kinds and I have to pet every dog I meet. I wish I could pet every single dog on the planet. That’s how much I LOVE dogs. I constantly watch dog videos and probably follow a couple of hundred different dogs on instagram. I have two dogs that I got from the Lexington Humane Society. I adopted Bentley in July 2011, and I adopted Royce in March 2012. Bentley is the black dog, and Royce is the black and white dog. Bentley is a mini Australian Shepherd…

Hi, y'all!

Hey y'all! My name is Whitney, and I'm the founder of Fabulous in Fayette. I've been living in Lexington since 2008. I'm in love with my city of Lexington and love all the amazing local businesses and restaurants. It's seriously one of the best places to live!

Not to be confused with Fayetteville, North Carolina. Fabulous in Fayette celebrates the fabulous city of Lexington, the great state of Kentucky, and Southern Living. In case you are not from here, Fayette refers to the county where Lexington is located!
