My Love Of All Things Rustic: JORD Wood Watches + A Giveaway!

February 7, 2017

This post is in collaboration with JORD. All of these opinions are entirely my own. Thank you for supporting brands and businesses that support Fabulous in Fayette! I just love the rustic look of reclaimed wood! When my husband and I buy a house, I even plan on incorporating the rustic look into the modern style that I want for our future house. This watch is perfect because it has that classic look that I love. You know, using something old and creating something completely new out of it?! I own a few pieces of jewelry made from reclaimed bourbon…

Farewell to JDI Grille & Tavern | Lexington, Kentucky

January 3, 2017

2017 has started out on a sad note. The JDI Grille & Tavern closed for good on January 1, 2017. The “original” JDI (also known as the Jefferson Davis Inn) was located at West High and Limestone Street where Jefferson Davis lived with the US Postmaster General, while attending Transylvania University in the 19th century in Lexington, Kentucky. It was a popular bar all throughout the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, but closed in 1996. That building is now home to the Bombay Bar and Grill. After being closed for nearly 20 years, the “new” JDI opened up in a brand…

How To Become a Maker’s Mark Ambassador

It’s no surprise that here in Kentucky, we like our bourbon. After all, it’s something that Kentucky is known for – 95% of the world’s bourbon is made here. I’m sure everyone knows it by now, but my name is Whitney, and I’m ambassador #1724647. If you haven’t…

Last Minute Dessert: Festive Holiday Pretzels

December 16, 2016

It’s that time of year, when we are invited to family affairs, Ugly Sweater parties, White Elephant/Dirty Santa shindigs, or maybe even a potluck at your place of employment. With parties, there comes food. I’ve been making these little treats for the past five years, and I’ve tried making all different varieties. These pretzel treats are super easy to make and also very delicious! This quick dessert allows you to customize them in any way you deem fit. You can use different types of kisses and m&ms, as well as different color m&ms. I usually prefer my “7 Layer Bars”…

December 15, 2016

Just because it is winter and cold outside, doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. In fact, there are tons of activities to do in Lexington, Kentucky during the winter; both indoors and outdoors. I think the problem is that people don’t know about the activities and events, until after they are over or they may not know where to look to find out. I’ve composed a list of “Christmasy” activities that you can do in Lexington (and surrounding areas) during the month of December. Obviously, there are many more things to do than ten (including and excluding Christmas), but…
